Often, students decide to transfer from one high school to another. Many times, students pigeonhole themselves into programs only to realize that their focus has changed. Others realize that the atmosphere is not what they were looking for. Some experience an event or situation that requires them to leave. And many are disappointed when they are placed in a school with more international students than they originally had expected – defeating the purpose of studying in the U.S.
When working with students wishing to transfer, it is important to listen to their reasons for wanting to leave. To determine the next step, our counselors are able to identify those high schools that address the concerns of the students. When their list is finalized, they are counseled through the application process to make sure that their reasons for transferring are being heard. When appropriate, our counselors will place a call to an institution to make sure the entire story has been properly conveyed.
